Hendrik Helmer, instrumental guitarist, singer and songwriter,
relocated from Germany to New York City in 1997. As
a successful and accomplished musician, he knew that
New York was the place to further develop his art. "Nowhere
else in the world can you grow musically as quickly
and efficiently as in New York City" says Helmer.
Since his move, he has played and recorded with some
of New York's most respected musicians and he is widely
acknowledged as one of today's leading guitarists.
Hendrik's strength lies in his ability
to play any style of music. His original works are searing
portraits of truth and honesty, mixed in with a whole
lot of good times. His singing is a unique blend of
various styles including blues, R&B and rock.
Hendrik's involvement with hip-hop
impresario Wyclef Jean had the most influence on his
musical career. "He is a genius - there are very
few artists today, who work so intuitively and creatively,
paying attention to the political world situation and
human kind."
This invaluable experience led him
to record with the Grammy nominated artist AMBER in
December 2003. Amber's new album, "MY
KIND OF WORLD", is due to for worldwide
release in the fall of 2004.
Hendrik is also a talented studio
guitarist and producer and has worked on numerous CD's,
DVD's and recordings. He is currently working on his
original music project with the talented musicians,
percussionist Bill Finizio and piano player Pete DeMeo.
